Congrats to Gary Woodland on his victory at the Waste Management Phoenix Open!

For the second week running, golf fans were treated to a playoff to determine a champion. Woodland triumphed over Chez Reavie on the first playoff hole to take the tournament title.

To reach the playoff, however, both men had to play some special golf.

Entering the final round three shots back, Woodland got off to a hot start, shooting 30 on the front-nine with five birdies. After a bogey on the par-4 14th, Woodland rattled off three birdies in-a-row. A par on the final hole meant Woodland held the lead at 18-under-par.

After a bogey on the par-3 16th, Reavie had to birdie the final two holes to match Woodland’s score. Facing a 25-foot putt on the final hole, Reavie calmly rolled it in to force the playoff.

Woodland would come out on top, however, as par on the first playoff hole was enough to give him the title.

This week, the PGA Tour heads back to California for the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Jordan Spieth headlines a field including former AT&T Byron Nelson champions Billy Horschel, Sangmoon Bae, Jason Day, Rory Sabbatini, Adam Scott, Vijah Singh and Phil Mickelson.
