Salesmanship Club Charitable Golf of Dallas, host organization of the AT&T Byron Nelson Championship, announced today that the 2014 Championship raised $5.6 million for Momentous Institute, bringing the total raised since 1968 to more than $137 million and transforming more than 100,000 lives.
The Championship proceeds benefit Momentous Institute, powered by Salesmanship Club of Dallas. Through its nationally acclaimed school and therapy programs, Momentous Institute has been transforming children’s lives by building and repairing social emotional health since 1920. Momentous Institute is expanding its research and training programs for education and mental health professionals in an effort to reach thousands of children they will never serve directly.
“Transforming kids’ lives is at the heart of this tournament and we are incredibly grateful to HP — our title sponsor the past 12 years,” says Patton Chapman, 2014 tournament chairman. “In addition to HP’s phenomenal support, we’re thankful for our longtime collaborative relationship with the City of Irving and surrounding community for providing an idyllic backdrop each year for the tournament, and, of course, all our sponsors who helped the Nelson grow and flourish. Looking forward, we are excited to work with AT&T to create brighter futures for kids and families in our community.”
The funds raised from the Nelson are invested in Momentous Institute’s impactful education and mental health programs. “Giving all kids and families an opportunity for success, regardless of obstacles, is paramount to the mission of Momentous Institute,” says Bill Flaherty, the organization’s board chair. “Our consistently strong results demonstrate how we are truly changing the odds for kids.”
The 2015 AT&T Byron Nelson Championship will be played May 25-31 at TPC Four Seasons Resort Las Colinas in Irving.
