PGA Tour Monday Qualifying

Each week the Open events on the PGA Tour have a qualifier. Four players advance from this qualifier to play in that week’s PGA Tour event. Very few players are automatically able to play in the Monday qualifier, however, anyone can try to qualify. They just have to play in a Pre-Qualifier first and advance from that event. Here’s how it works:

The North Texas Section of the PGA runs all of the HP Byron Nelson qualifiers. Any player falling into the categories below is automatically in the Monday qualifier. He does not have to compete in the Pre-Qualifier.

2013-2014 PGA TOUR Member
2014 Web.com Tour Member
2014 Champions Tour Regular Member
PGA Section Exempt Members
Former PGA TOUR Members 2011-2013 Players making a cut on the PGA TOUR in the 2013-2014 season
Players in the PGA TOUR event immediately preceding the Open Qualifier.

All other players must enter the Pre-Qualifier to advance to Monday qualifying. Professionals and Amateurs may play in the Pre-Qualifier as long as their handicap is 2 or less. This year 296 players entered the Pre-Qualifying events. There are two Pre–Qualifiers being held on Thursday, May 8th => one at Lantana Golf Club and one at Bridlewood Golf Club. The low 40 players and ties advance to Monday qualifying on May 12th at the Lakes at Castle Hills.
