While the world watched Jordan Spieth win the Masters at the Alister MacKenzie inspired Augusta National Golf Club on Sunday another Texas Longhorn won at another Alister MacKenzie golf course in Santa Cruz, California.
Scottie Scheffler won the individual title and Texas won the team title at the Western Intercollegiate at Pasatiempo Golf Club on Sunday. Scottie shot a 9 under par 201 to win individual honors.
Remember Scottie won the Byron Nelson International Junior Golf Award last year and competed against the PGA Tour players in the AT&T Byron Nelson. In his first PGA Tour event he finished in a tie for 22nd place, shooting a four under par total of 276.
Sunday was a good day for the Texas Longhorns.
