Momentous Institute Junior Reporter: Kickoff Luncheon Recap

  • By Nestor Resendiz, Momentous School 5th Grader
  • 2018 AT&T Byron Nelson Junior Reporter

  • Change is in the air! You could feel the hope and excitement at the March 29th AT&T Byron Nelson kickoff luncheon.  Everyone is looking forward to watching golf at the new Trinity Forest Golf Club.

  • One of the things we have found out is that there are a lot people who are helping make the tournament happen in 2018.  Our title sponsor is AT&T, and they are proud to work together as a team to build a better future for southern Dallas and the Byron Nelson.

  • NEWS FLASH! Some of the new premiere sponsors for the golf tournament are Lexus, Visit Dallas, and Hilton Anatole.

  • Funds raised at the tournament benefit Momentous Institute, including Momentous School, where I am in fifth grade.  I also think Momentous School may help me in the future when I go to college.  At the luncheon, executive director Michelle Kinder talked about how 97% of Momentous School students graduate high school on time, and 84% go on to higher education.  Sounds to me like I’ll have a great chance to go to college someday!

  • The momentous change of improving children’s lives doesn’t happen unless you’re in the business of helping families. Although the AT&T Byron Nelson is a sporting event, it is in the business of helping kids and families around Dallas.

  • ANOTHER NEWS FLASH! The hospitality suites on holes 16, 17, and 18 are sold out.  That’s great!

  • The people of the Salesmanship Club and the tournament sponsors have spent a lot of time preparing for the tournament in 45 days.

  • 45 small days until the big event.  I’m excited, and I feel like I have one of the greatest jobs I could ever have, being one of the 2018 Junior Reporters.  I’ll be one of the first people reporting from the new golf course in southern Dallas.

  • Until next time!
