Junior Reporters- AT&T

Today I went to the AT&T First Tee event. I saw so many kids asking questions. There were kids in high school most of them were eighteen. The food was amazing because they had hot dogs, hamburgers, chili, and even salad.  The view from the AT&T 17th hole skybox was beautiful. We watched golfers qualifying for the HP Byron Nelson Championship.

Now back to the kids. The school they came from was called Texas Can! Their teacher was Mr. King and he was teaching them pre-calculus. But why take them to golf? He takes them to golf so they could learn how to practice etiquette and to see new things. Guess what, he is their First Tee golf teacher, too.  He teaches them how to swing, putt, and hit. A senior named Derrick told me that after high school he wants to be in the Air Force.

Then a golfer named Joe Ogilvie came in.  He had just finished his round and came to talk to the kids. He shot seventy-two, with four bogeys and two birdies. He went to Duke University in 1992. He has been on the PGA tour for fifteen years. The last tournament he played in before the Byron Nelson was the Wells Fargo Championship. He says that when you win you get congratulated by your friends, family, and get a call from your mom. That is the inside scoop from the Byron Nelson Championship today.
