WHAT IS ‘BIRDIES FOR MENTAL HEALTH’?
Birdies for Mental Health is a fundraising initiative designed to generate contributions to the AT&T Byron Nelson’s beneficiary, Momentous Institute.
Momentous Institute, founded by Salesmanship Club of Dallas in 1920, exists to build and repair social emotional health with children, families and communities. Each year the organization partners with over 6,000 children and family members through innovative education. The organization invests in research and training, including the annual Changing the Odds conference, to reach far more children than could ever be seen directly.
Through Birdies for Mental Health, you have the opportunity to support the impactful work of Momentous Institute and join in changing the odds for children.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Participants have the ability to pledge five cents or more per birdie made by PGA TOUR pros during the 2022 AT&T Byron Nelson. For example, if 2,000 birdies were made during the tournament here are some examples of pledge totals:
- 5 cent pledge = $100
- 10 cent pledge = $200
- $1 pledge = $2,000
In 2021, 2,007 birdies were made at TPC Craig Ranch during the AT&T Byron Nelson. The minimum pledge amount is $.05.
- 2021 Stats:
- Round 1: 731
- Round 2: 645
- Round 3: 322
- Round 4: 309
- Grand Total: 2,007
- ROUND 1 – Choctaw Package (2 night stay, dinner for 2 at 1832 Steakhouse, concert tickets, spa)
- ROUND 2 – Omni Package (2 nights anywhere in the US, Four Rounds of Golf)
- ROUND 3 – Sports Package (4 Rangers Tickets, 4 Dallas Cowboys Tickets, 4 2023 Cotton Bowl Tickets)
- ROUND 4 – Mavericks Package (Suite night at 22-23 Season Game of Choice for up to 12 people, all inclusive)
By a definition, a birdie is achieved when a player uses one fewer stroke than the par of the hole. So, if the hole is a par 4, the player would need to make it in 3 strokes to achieve birdie.
Participants also have the option to make a flat donation in lieu of pledging. The minimum donation is $20.
All pledges & donations are tax-deductible.
