HP Byron Nelson Officials Announce Social Media Blitz
Twitter followers and Facebook fans can win American Airlines tickets and HP Byron Nelson tickets and merchandise
Irving, TX, November 7, 2011 – HP Byron Nelson Championship officials will launch a social media campaign on Monday, November 7 through HPBNC’s Facebook (facebook.com/hpbnc) and Twitter (twitter.com/hpbnc). A number of prizes will be given away, including American Airlines tickets, HPBNC merchandise, tickets, autographed merchandise, and prizes courtesy of the Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas.
“The Byron” is a monthly contest featuring a fan or follower striking the pose in honor of the tournament’s namesake. The pose is personified in the silhouette of Byron Nelson that is part of the tournament’s logo, and it includes a hand on each hip, feet casually crossed, and holding a golf club is always optional. Wherever fans and followers go, whether on vacation, business or just around town, they can do “The Byron” and post the photo to HPBNC’s Facebook or Twitter. One winner will receive a monthly grand prize. The first grand prize will be two domestic American Airline tickets, courtesy of American Airlines, the official airline of the HPBNC. A number of other notable prizes will be awarded in addition to the grand prize each month. Special consideration will be given for those who strike a pose the farthest away from Dallas, in the most unique place and at a favorite location.
“Highest/Lowest Scorecard” is a contest specifically for the golfer. Participants should post a picture(s) of their scorecard, signed by a golf pro, on Facebook or to @hpbnc on Twitter each time they play a round. The highest and lowest scores posted that month will win a prize courtesy of the Four Seasons.
“Can You Caption This?” contest will be held every Monday morning. The most creative caption for the photos posted to Facebook and Twitter will be announced at the end of the week. The fan with the winning caption will be awarded the weekly grand prize. The winning caption and photo will also be posted to the Championship’s website, www.hpbnc.org.
“Trivia Thursday” will be held on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at 11 a.m. Central on Twitter. Autographed merchandise and tickets will be awarded to the first correct reply @hpbnc.
“Check It Out Thursday” will feature a fun and interesting fact about the tournament every Thursday. There will be no prize to be won, but it is always eligible to become a trivia question.
As part of the blitz, there will also be regular video of golf personalities, legends and unprecedented behind-the-scenes glimpses of the Championship.
